I recently interviewed with this company. The first round with the recruiter went pretty smoothly, with standard HR questions. But the second round was really tough. It was a panel interview with three people: senior security consultants and the hiring manager. It felt more like a gatekeeping session than an actual evaluation. They weren't interested in my core skills or fundamental knowledge; they mainly wanted to know if I'd used specific tools. When I said I hadn't used one of them directly but understood the process, it seemed to be a dealbreaker. I didn't get the job, and it felt like their goal was to weed people out instead of seeing if they could learn or adapt.

Applied on Aug 10th. Got a phone screen invite on Aug 20th, happened Aug 26th. Then had an interview on Sep 13th. Didn't hear back after that. The whole process felt slow and communication was poor. The rejection email was automated and only sent after I followed up on Oct 1, which was a letdown considering the time I put in.

Presentation Behavioral

So I went through three interviews and a presentation. The process was okay. But the communication about the presentation requirements came from HR and I could tell it was not what the hiring manager wanted. So you should get clarification for what they want from the hiring manager. Afterwards, I got a bunch of confusing messages. The first one asked me to interview for what appeared to be the same exact job. The second message was a thanks but no thanks message. All very canned communication with no context. When I tried to find out what was going on, I find out that I didn't get the job but there was basically the same job available but reporting to another manager. Why would a company employ 2 people to do pretty much the same thing with the same title but report to different managers.? And why would anyone want to go through the same exact interview process for pretty much the same job, if they didn't get the first job.? This does not make any sense to me. I have better things to do than interview again for the same job at the same company that really had a terrible and confusing way of letting me know I did not get the job. Yes there are alot of layoffs and stuff going on but why would anyone want to go through the same thing again and expect a different result? In any case, communication after all is done with an interview process, really shows a company's true colors. Anyone taking this job should definitely ask about the other job that is very similar but reports to a different manager. To me, this just looks like trouble.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Just make sure you understand the presentation requirements.
  • It's a bad idea to leave it up to HR to communicate what the hiring team is expecting.
