Revenue Operations Manager
So I interviewed with Storyblocks recently and it was a really great experience. Malia, the Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist, was super communicative and organized right from the application. She set up my interviews quickly and gave me all the info I needed to get ready. Everyone I talked to during the interviews was really professional and friendly. They seemed genuinely interested in me and asked good questions that let me show what I can do. Malia also followed up after each round with feedback and what was next, which was really helpful and transparent. Even though I didn't get the job in the end, I still have a good feeling about the company and the people. I'd definitely suggest Storyblocks if you're looking for a place that values and supports your skills.
- Can you describe a significant project you were involved in and what its results were?
Customer Success Manager
The hiring team gave me a clear timeline at the start. Though the holidays made things take longer than expected, the HR rep kept me updated. The interview process involved a recruiter screen, followed by an interview with the hiring manager. Next, there was an assignment to complete. The final stage was a series of three interviews with six different people. While the initial stages went smoothly, the final round was a bit rough. One interviewer was quite condescending and had a stereotypical 'startup' vibe. He even said, "You know, we only hire extremely intelligent people." Another interviewer asked a really tricky question, and after I answered, she just gave a fake smile and seemed disengaged. I sent thank-you emails to everyone, but got no response. After a week of no news, I followed up and was told they weren't moving forward with my application. When I asked for feedback, I was ghosted. It's a shame considering how much time and effort I put into preparing. I had two other offers that same week, but this experience soured my view of the company.
- Tell me about a time when...
- Can you tell me more about our product/offering?
- What strategies would you use in a technical context?
Marketing
So I had some initial good talks with the recruiter and hiring manager, but then after that I was totally ghosted. There was no hint that I wouldn't be moving on, the hiring manager even said the recruiter would reach out after the holidays. So I waited like two weeks. Then I tried reaching out to the recruiter twice, and the hiring manager once more over like 3-4 weeks. Nobody ever got back to me. I get that companies are busy, but you'd think after an interview, they'd at least tell you if you're not moving forward. Being ignored after following up three times felt really unprofessional and disrespectful.
- What's your motivation for wanting to join Storyblocks?
- Can you share details about your previous work with SEM and paid social campaigns, including strategy?
- What qualities do you seek in an employer?
User Experience Writer
The HR contact was responsive and candid, which was appreciated. However, the rest of the interview process felt disorganized. The job description and the role itself seemed to change between the second and third interviews, shifting towards a marketing focus with specific experience requirements. One interviewer was described as inexperienced and patronizing, asking vague questions and appearing to have already made a decision about the candidate's capabilities. The hiring process felt lengthy, involving three phone rounds, a homework assignment, and an in-person interview. The candidate had already accepted another offer by the homework stage.
- How would you approach creating an email campaign for a company such as Salesforce?
