This role had a few interviews, and the communication was good. They were really interested in my past sales and customer service experience since it's a hybrid role. I spoke with both a recruiter and a manager. It was a pretty straightforward interview process if you can answer basic questions about the sales cycle and process. If you've worked in self-storage, this would be an easy job, much better than working directly in the stores.

Behavioral Technical Other

The district manager called me for an interview pretty much the same day I applied. I was happy to interview immediately and made sure to dress professionally. I hadn't heard of Storquest before I started working there. I interviewed with him, he told me a bit about the company's history and asked me why I wanted to work there, and gave me some situational questions. I answered them as best I could. He shared his experience at the company, and I told him how long I'd been in Colorado, why I left my last job, and my professional reasons for being unhappy with restaurant management. He hired me right then.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I applied for the Team Lead role three times over seven years. Each time, I was the most qualified candidate due to my consistent work performance, year-over-year revenue growth, exceeding expectations with 40% higher rates than competitors, and achieving the highest rates in the company. I took pride in my work, managed my store as if it were my own, and excelled annually. I demonstrated exceptional customer service and leadership when opportunities arose. Despite applying three times, I was never given the chance to be promoted and grow within the company. My efforts and results have gone unacknowledged, unrewarded, and unpraised. I eventually stopped applying for the Team Lead position because the internal politics had become too discouraging, diminishing my desire for advancement. I've become resigned to the poor internal hiring process and continue to perform my job to the best of my ability, letting my work speak for itself.

This industry is quite eager to hire, so if you get a callback, you're very likely to be offered the job. Just be friendly and smile a lot, or play it safe by agreeing a lot.
