First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Stony Brook University.
Administrative Assistant
My interview process was pretty intense and took a long time, but then they never got back to me. They told me they had questions ready for everyone, which I guess is fair, but it felt like I couldn't really talk about my own skills.
- I don't remember the questions from my interview a few months ago.
Office Assistant
The interview was really straightforward, and a great place to start. It was a very chill environment. I sat down with the boss of the person I would be working for in her office. The first ten minutes were her getting to know me as a student. We talked about the job requirements and made sure to let me know that they strive towards a work/study balance for students.
- How will this position help you succeed as a student at SBU?
Administrative Assistant
I had a nice chat with the interviewer. We talked about my background, my education and professional experience. She also asked about my interest areas and how I would handle a project in a high-pressure environment.
- Are you familiar with and do you adhere to State rules?
