First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at STL Executives.
Account Sales Representative
So, I went through a few interviews before getting the job, not too much. The first one was super fast and easy, just a 5-minute chat with the President about general stuff. Lots of people were waiting, so it felt like a quick way to weed people out. Later that same day, I got a call for another interview. This one was with an Account Manager, and we went out for lunch. It was really chill and casual. We spent about an hour total having lunch, talking about the role, and I got to show them who I am. Back at the office, I had to do this quick paper quiz thing about the lunch to see if I was actually listening.
- Can you explain the difference between out-of-home and in-home advertising?
- Suppose you could go anywhere or to any event, where would you pick and why?
Account Manager
The interview process was actually very relaxed. I have been to a good amount, as I have recently graduated. I felt like these people actually cared what answers I was giving and really looked through my resume and qualifications. The next interview I went on was a lot more detailed and in-depth. I'm glad I was thoroughly prepared because I was asked a lot of questions about my previous positions and how I handled numerous situations. Besides the business side, the guy that did my second interview was easy to talk to and was able to answer all my questions, rather than putting them all on someone else.
- Regarding your work history, can you explain why you've held multiple positions in a brief period?
Executive
The interviewers and staff were nice, but the process felt a bit odd. They were hesitant to reveal they actually do door-to-door sales. There was an initial quick interview, followed by a longer one over lunch. The lunch interview was a bit tougher but mostly standard STAR questions. They made an effort to make me comfortable, and it felt like they were eager to hire anyone, even if they implied I was special for reaching later stages. It really feels like a multi-level marketing scheme.
- Can you explain the law of averages?
Sales Associate
It was a pretty easy three-step interview process. The first interview was about 10 minutes. The second interview lasted 3.5 hours. I met with a team member who took me to lunch and we talked about my past experience and skills. Right after we got back from lunch, I met with management for the third interview, which was only 5 minutes.
