I applied through Indeed and was surprised to get a call back for a phone interview. They asked about my past work history, specific duties, preferred work locations, and career goals. Then, I was asked to come in and fill out an application. This involved listing three previous employers for reference checks and signing forms for a reference check. After that, I completed several computer-based skills tests, including typing, data entry, spelling, filing, switchboard, and Microsoft Word. The tests took about 6-8 minutes each, except for the Word test which was 25 minutes. Accuracy was more important than completing all questions. My high scores allowed me to move on to orientation and payroll paperwork, where I opted for direct deposit. I'm now employed with Stivers Staffing and have an interview for a temp-to-hire position in about 12 days, after the holidays. This role becomes permanent after 90 days with a fair pay rate that increases upon permanency. The branch seems attentive to clients and employees, aiming to match qualifications with client needs. In the meantime, I'll be placed on a short-term assignment next week to earn money while waiting for the main position. The interview focused on elaborating on experience and skills to ensure suitable job placements. I also had the chance to ask questions. A background check and sex offender registry check are conducted. Drug testing doesn't seem to be part of the process. Experiences can vary by location, but my branch is great. I'm looking forward to working with clients and earning well.

Be ready to provide website addresses for past employers and full contact details for references. Next, you'll take some skills tests, like for Excel, Microsoft Word, and Filing. Finally, you have an interview with someone from HR.

I went through a temp agency. Their communication was really bad, and they didn't follow through on anything. They ended up costing me a job with an employer where I'd already had two good interviews, all because they failed to tell the employer what I was expecting.

The interview process was two steps, met with Director and VP, most likely virtual now, and overall a good experience, with nothing negative to say.
