First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Stiles Machinery.
Field Service Technician
The interview was really professional. They were clear about what the job entails. It was a really open and fun conversation, and I got a lot of good info. No surprises after I got the offer. They even paid for my travel to get there.
- Are you able to travel to customer locations 90% of the time?
Sales Engineer
It was a pretty standard process. First, there was a personality test to gauge sales aptitude, given that it's a long sales cycle. Then, I had two phone interviews. Finally, I had an in-person interview with the regional team at their office. Overall, it was a simple and straightforward experience.
- Tell me about a time you dealt with a negative experience.
Human Resources Director
The interview process was a bit different. First, I had a phone interview with the person who would report to me. Then, I was invited for an in-person meeting. Three interviewers were present, and they didn't ask many questions. Instead, they kept emphasizing that this was a brand-new role that would likely face many challenges. It felt like they were trying to discourage candidates. I got the impression they weren't really serious about filling the position. I asked for feedback afterward, but got none.
- Describe a situation where you faced resistance to change and explain how you managed it.
CNC Instructor
So, the interview process took place over two weeks, with four interviews total. The first week, I had a 30-minute chat with HR, then a 45-minute interview with the department manager. After that, there was a hands-on interview with some future colleagues, where I worked with the machines and software, which also lasted about 45 minutes. The second week, I talked to the department manager again, and then had a final interview with another department manager.
