Got a call from the consultancy about an Android developer role. They booked and then changed the interview dates a few times. Eventually, the first round took place. Honestly, it was the worst interview experience I've ever had. The person interviewing me was on their bed, eating and playing with their child.

Worst experience ever. They had a screening round, then a technical/hiring manager round, followed by a VP round, and finally an HR discussion. After all those rounds, I gave my expected CTC, but HR said they didn't get approval and offered me 10% less than my current salary. This company wastes candidates' time with too many interviews. If HR isn't sure about package approval, they should clarify that before starting the interview process. They should communicate with the VP about package approval first and then collect documents, instead of fooling candidates and rejecting them.

Applied a few years ago - had a phone screen with one person. Then an interview with that same person plus 2 others. Was asked to submit a writing sample from a college essay, then was asked to complete a hefty writing assessment within 24 hours that actually was 3 different writing assessments. Submitted the essay, then the 3 writing assessments, then was ghosted. Followed up a few times but never heard anything back. Lots of work for an intern position, and quite rude to be entirely ignored after.

I applied directly to a program manager after a recruiter reached out. I had a phone call with him about the job, and then I was invited to come into the office for an interview and a language test. The interview itself was really basic, but the language test was the most important part. I was told my test score was good enough and that I was approved by the government agency, and then I got the job.
