Research Assistant
Had a few interviews with the PI. He asked questions about my past experience and technical knowledge. Need to be ready to talk about the frameworks and language in the job posting. Coding skills were necessary. Having past publications also helps.
- What technical questions do you have regarding research?
- Tell me about your past research experience.
Financial Analyst
The interview process consisted of 3 interviews. The final interview was a 7-person panel interview with an assessment. This was the worst company I have ever interviewed for, they did not even have the decency to respond to my follow up message and make me aware that the position has been filled or not. I followed-up with the hiring manager numerous times. They just ghosted me.
- Given that the company is building processes, can you discuss your experience with systems and how you would approach this?
Software Engineer
The interview was good, and the questions were pretty easy. There were some questions about my future goals and where I see myself in 5 years. The technical questions were solid, and although it took me a bit to figure out the answers, the interviewers were super helpful in guiding my thinking.
- What are your long-term career aspirations over the next five years?
- What are your future goals?
- Describe your thought process when approaching technical challenges.
Marketing and Events Coordinator
Applied for the role in Summer 2023 and got contacted for an interview fairly quickly. The interview had two interviewers. One was nice, but the other was condescending and questioned my technical skills. She also asked behavioral questions in a rude way. At the end, when asked about next steps, they mentioned a presentation and more questions would follow. The pay range they offered was $50k-$55k.
- What strategies would you use to promote the Career Center and attract students to visit?
