I first met with the junior partner, and we went over my portfolio. After that, he gave me a tour of the office and introduced me to the team. We looked at some of the current projects, especially the one I was applying for. During the portfolio review, he asked me about my design sensibilities and how proficient I am with CAD software.

I saw the job posting on NYFA.org and they emailed me back pretty fast. I had my interview with the office manager in Steven's office. She was kind of monotone. We didn't really click, and I sensed pretty early it wasn't going to work out. I think not having design experience was a problem, even though it was mainly a reception job.
