First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Steritech.
Food Safety Coordinator
The interview process involved general questions, then a psychological test, followed by short video answers to common interview questions like why you'd be a good fit and examples of great customer service.
- Can you share an instance where you provided excellent customer service?
Food and Safety Inspector
Got a call from a recruiter who checked if I was a good fit, qualification-wise and personality-wise. Then I talked to a manager for about 30 minutes about my past experience, how I found out about the company, and they asked some STAR format behavioral questions. The second interview was with another manager who went over the job duties and what the training would be like if I got the offer. They said they'd get back to me in 2-3 days and if I move forward, would set up a Level 2 Background check and drug test.
- Can you share an instance where you overcame a significant challenge or completed a difficult task?
- Describe your approach to delivering feedback to an individual who is resistant to receiving it, considering it's part of your job.
Food Safety Specialist
It was a complicated hiring process with 4 interviews, and they also required 3 references, plus drug, driving, and background screenings. The interviews were pretty conversational, with a few questions asked in each one. The questions weren't what I expected, but I was able to answer them honestly after thinking for a bit.
- Tell me about a situation where you were asked to perform a task outside of your defined job responsibilities.
Pest Control Service Specialist
The whole process took 11 months, which is way longer than most people experience (usually 1-3 months). It started with a phone interview and about an hour of online testing. About a month later, I had my first in-person interview. A couple weeks after that, I did a "ride-along" where I met some techs at a restaurant, watched them do an inspection, and asked questions. My second interview with the GM was about two weeks after that. I was told I was a strong candidate, but it was down to me and one other person. A week or so later, I got a call saying the other person got the job, but they really wanted me and I just had to wait for someone to retire, which was supposed to be in a couple months. This waiting continued for several months until the retirement date was only a month away.
