It was tedious, starting with a quick Google Meet, then an interview with the director and a tour of the school. After that, I had to write an essay, followed by another short interview with the owner, Rhonda. The interaction with Rhonda was almost unbelievable; within 15 minutes, she interrupted me, belittled me, insulted my intelligence, and raised her voice. It was the worst employer interaction I've had, but it helped me see her true colors so I could reject the offer immediately.

The interview was pretty relaxed and straightforward. The interviewer mainly asked yes/no questions that were easy to expand on if needed. They didn't talk about the hours or pay during the interview, which I guess they'll cover in person. Training wasn't discussed either.

The owner was very disrespectful and rushed the whole interview. She cut me off multiple times to say she didn't have time for long answers. She quoted things from the company website and corrected me, but she was wrong and gave false information. I was taken on tours of two schools and asked to write a review of what I saw. After all that, I was denied an offer because they couldn't meet my salary requirements, even though I told them my base salary during the initial phone screening.

Got an email from the Stepping Stone recruiter to set up a quick phone call. After I talked about my experience, she set up a time for me to go to the main office. At the office, the receptionist had me fill out an application that took about an hour. She also asked for two forms of ID and my college transcript. The recruiter then took me to her office to discuss the position and my background further. She asked me questions about how I'd handle specific scenarios. Afterward, she introduced me to the owner, Rhonda, who barely acknowledged me. She was very direct and didn't want to spend much time with interviewees. I felt like cattle because there were so many women interviewing at the same time. It seemed like they'd interview anyone. Then, they unexpectedly sent me to a school 25 miles away to tour and shadow the director, like, right away. They scheduled the same for the next day at a different school. I asked about the pay range twice, but no one could give me an answer. I even asked an onsite director who sent me back to the recruiter about pay. I found out through Glassdoor that the pay seems very low. When I told them I wouldn't continue touring schools without a ballpark figure, they ignored my email and I never heard back, which I found unprofessional. This could be a good job for someone new to early childhood education looking to get started, but with ten years of experience, I could tell it was more sales-focused than a school. They also didn't like people asking questions.
