For the first time ever, we’re able to reveal vital details about a tumor – including its fundamental phenotype and biological behavior – from just a blood sample,” said Helmy Eltoukhy, Guardant Health chairman and co-CEO. “This gives healthcare providers the insights they need about a patient’s cancer to make smarter treatment decisions, even when they can’t access tumor tissue for analysis. The novel blood-based approach to comprehensive molecular profiling using our Guardant Infinity Smart Liquid Biopsy platform offers immense potential for future applications in cancer and beyond.”

The interview involved a case study with three parts: building a 3 Statement Model, creating a Teaser, and identifying errors in a given Teaser. It also included 30-minute interviews with junior team members covering Accounting, a deep dive into the Equity Bridge, various Multiple Analyses, the use of fictional examples to assess market awareness and valuation logic, and the sell-side process.
- Could you elaborate on the components of the Equity Bridge?
Analyst
First, we had a phone call with HR to check if you're a good fit culturally and see your motivation and soft skills. Then, you'll work on a case study to see how you analyze and solve problems in a real-world scenario. After that, there will be two 1-hour interviews. One will be technical, focusing on your knowledge of the industry and specific topics. The other will be more personal, diving deeper into how you'd fit with our team and company culture. Finally, there's a team event where we can see how you interact with others and work in a team setting in a more relaxed environment. This is to check your communication, collaboration, and team spirit.
- What are some standard BIWS questions related to accounting, valuation, and modeling?
Investment Banking Analyst
So far everything's been on Zoom. There are 3 rounds total. The first round is with an associate, the second with a VP, and the third is the Superday. I've made it to the second round and they've only asked me basic stuff. I reckon the first round is 100% behavioral and 0% technical. The second round is probably 60% behavioral and 40% technical. The Superday is gonna be 100% behavioral and 100% technical, haha.
- What made you decide to apply to Stephens specifically?
- What led you to pursue Investment Banking?
- Can you describe the role of an investment banker?
