First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Stephens College.
Marketing Communications
I had two interviews, one with a group of about five or six people. I had to follow up a few times about the hiring status and was told they were 'working on it.' In the end, I never heard back about whether they hired someone else or anything. It felt pretty disorganized, I wish they had at least sent a form email.
- Can you describe your ideal team environment?
Faculty
I had a Skype interview with them. The questions were thoughtful and well-considered, and the people were very welcoming. It was fun to think about and answer the logical questions they posed. I got a really positive impression of the group and the school.
- Regarding your career, where would you say you are at right now?
Director
The interview process is pretty straightforward. Most of the questions are behavioral, asking you to talk about past experiences in residential life or business in general. It's a group effort where graduate assistants and the director of residential life ask the questions.
- Can you share an instance where you faced a conflict within residential life and how you managed it?
IT Help Desk Technician
Started with a phone screen to go over info about the job and what to expect in the rest of the interview process, not many actual questions there. Then had an in-person with the team, which was a panel doing round robin style questions. It began with personal and behavioral questions, then moved into more technical ones.
- Can you explain the function of a subnet mask?
