First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Steno.
Software Engineer
I stopped the interview process after the 2nd round. It was a strange round of tech questions that felt like trivia rather than assessing actual technical skills. The questions were about Steno's tech but were too general and could be easily found with a search engine, not really testing technical ability.

Inside Sales Account Executive
The interview process started with a recruiter call, who was really great and organized. Next, I met with the VP of sales, who was very serious and unapproachable, making it a bit uncomfortable. Then, I spoke with a sales rep who mostly talked about the company and asked a few questions. The next stage was a presentation to the VP and a sales manager. Although the email said 'have fun with it,' it was actually graded like a school assignment, so it's better to be serious and prepared. They were critical of my presentation. Finally, I had an interview with the sales manager, who seemed disengaged at times, checking his phone and computer. I didn't get an offer, and it seemed like they have a specific type of person they hire, often with little prior sales experience despite the job requiring 1-3 years. They focused heavily on feedback and adherence to their specific sales methods rather than my actual experience. My advice is to check LinkedIn and the 'people' tab to see the company's diversity and hiring patterns, as there's a lack of diversity and they seem to look for a very specific profile.

Scheduling Assistant
The whole thing took a few weeks, but I actually stretched it out on purpose 'cause I was checking out other offers. Anyway, there were 4 interviews total. It started with a phone call, then 3 more over Zoom. First, I talked to the recruiter, who mostly just sold the company and asked some basic stuff. Then the department manager, who wanted to know about my background and what I could bring to the role. That chat was pretty chill. The director interview was similar, but I got the vibe they were really trying to see how good I am with technology. Didn't get the job in the end. Honestly though, everyone I talked to was nice, clear about things, and open about the company and what the job expected.

Virtual Tech Assistant
I got a response about 4 hours after applying. The first step was recording a YouTube video to show my charisma and answer some questions. Then, I had an interview the next day with a great recruiter who saw similarities in us and moved me straight to the final stage after our chat. The final stage was a 1-hour mock interview where I had to troubleshoot 4-5 scenarios with 2 supervisors. It was tough but they were nice. After that, it was a standard interview. They replied the next Monday, but I turned down the offer. It was a good experience overall.
