First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Stellar Services.
IT
I applied online and the whole process took over a month. After two weeks, I had a 30-minute phone interview where they asked questions about my resume experience. I didn't hear back for another two weeks, and then they asked me to come in for an in-person interview in Jersey City, which I declined.
- Why do you want to work for Stellar?
- Questions related to your resume experience.
- How would you solve the technical issue under specific conditions?
Administrative Assistant
I was contacted by the company via email. I went to their office on a weekday. They took me to a small conference room where I could see other employees working silently through the glass. The interview lasted about 2 hours, and I met with 3 employees of different levels separately. The vibe was fine until they started asking a lot of personal questions. All three asked similar questions about my education and previous work experience. They didn't seem interested even if I had good computer and language skills. All of them finished by asking a bunch of personal questions, like where my family members were from and about their hobbies and dream jobs, which felt weird as if they were interviewing my family members.
- Can you tell me where your parents are from and what they do?
- Could you share details about your parents' origins and occupations?
Systems Engineer
It was just an onsite interview with three rounds. The interviewers were an HR person, a VP for systems engineer, and another VP from a different department. This was a very unprofessional experience. One of the VPs even spoke to me in Chinese. There were no technical problems, only behavioral questions based on my resume. They also asked for my references. I haven't received any interview results after waiting for a month, even after emailing for an update after three weeks.
- What are your career aspirations for the next 10 years?
Technical Writer
They started with some common questions about family and academic background. Then they moved on to some technical questions, asking why I was interested in the job and what I expected from the company once I joined.
- What do you hope to gain from this company once you are hired?
- What attracts you to this particular role?
