Data Engineer
I talked to a recruiter first, then I did well on the technical interview. It was great, the interviewer was professional, nice, and easy to talk to. The recruiter took a while to get back to me. When she finally did, we set up a final interview. I spoke with someone from Operations HR. It felt friendly and positive, although it also felt a bit scripted and insincere like, “our executive team prides itself on providing fantastic opportunities for employees”… but whatever. It was okay. I followed up with the recruiter twice over the next two weeks but didn't hear back. This would have been a good interview experience if it wasn't for the recruiter who made me feel ignored and made the whole process tough.
- What are some things you were asked in both interviews?
Service Designer
I went through two interviews and the whole thing was pretty smooth and fast. The questions were more like a chat, focusing on my service design experience instead of being super technical. It felt more like a conversation and let me show what I know naturally. I liked that it was conversational, it made things comfortable for everyone.
- Can you describe your method for handling uncertainty in big design projects, especially when starting the discovery phase of development?
Salesforce Technical Lead
This was a VERY long and opaque interview process lasting nine weeks with big delays and bad communication. There were about seven interviews over nine weeks and I had to do almost all the follow-up. Then I found out the job I was offered might not have existed and a different one could be available if the project was won. After that, I had ANOTHER interview with another hiring manager. They took almost two weeks to decide between me and another candidate, again with no communication. Everyone I talked to was nice and we had good chats, but the slowness, disorganization, and lack of diligence made me feel like I dodged a bullet. Don't ignore the other reviews, this company's hiring process has serious issues.
- Can you share an instance where you guided a junior team member through a challenge?
- Tell me about a time you assisted a junior employee in overcoming an obstacle.
Product Manager
Applied and got a quick response. Talked to their internal recruiter directly, no third party involved. Seemed good. Interview went well, got positive feedback, and was told I'd hear back in 24-48 hours. Never did. Followed up the next Monday, and they just ghosted me. Don't let other bad experiences fool you. They have this internal referral bonus thing for certain jobs, where if you refer someone who gets hired, you get a nice bonus. I think this is why so many people have had bad interview experiences, especially if you're not a referral. The recruiter told me all about it for like 5 minutes, mentioning someone making $10k in a month from it. I can only imagine the nepotism and how unqualified people fill higher positions because of it. Honestly, I think I dodged a bullet. So, thanks for ghosting.
- Can you share your experience that aligns with the requirements of this position?
