Inspector
The interview was conducted via Zoom and was quite straightforward. It felt more like a relaxed chat than a formal interview, which I appreciated. I received a response quickly and was presented with the option to choose between two roles.
- Can you share a bit about yourself?
Ski Instructor
The interview was on Zoom, it was a pretty chill interview with some weird questions like "are you nice", I got offered the job right in the middle of the interview. You don't even need to be a good skier to get this job.
- Do you have experience instructing and working with children?
Ski Instructor
If you're not local, interviews are typically conducted over the phone or Skype. These calls are generally relaxed and professional, and they're usually willing to reschedule if needed. They didn't check my references. The phone interview itself is straightforward, with common questions since they hire many people this way and aren't often surprised by responses. The main goal at this stage is to find pleasant, genuine individuals; skiing ability isn't a primary concern yet, that comes after accepting the offer. In November, there's a week-long ski/board training session with a certified trainer and supervisor. This is where you demonstrate your skills, learn the mountain, and understand the operational procedures.
- Would you describe yourself as a nice person?
- Imagine a nervous grandma with a scar, who hasn't skied in over 5 years, is with you on the chairlift. How would you manage that scenario?
Manager
It was a very professional and friendly process. They did a non-intimidating assessment of my skills. The interviewer was on time and respectful. It seems like a great department and organization to be part of. They gave a good review of the area and recommendations for relocation.
- What makes you want to apply for this role?
- Tell me about the skills you possess that are relevant to this position.
- What do you enjoy doing in your free time, outside of work?
