First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Stavvy.
Software Engineer
I applied through the company website and they got back to me pretty quickly. We had a good chat about the company and what they do. Then, they set up a meeting with someone from the hiring team. But the day before, they canceled, citing a scheduling issue and saying they'd reschedule for the following week. They never did, and I didn't hear back even after I reached out. Pretty unprofessional to ghost someone like that, it really left a bad impression.

Software Engineer
First, there was a 15-minute call with the People Relations team where we talked about my resume, past jobs, and why I wanted to work at Stavvy. They were really nice and listened well. Then, I had a 45-minute interview with the Principal Software Engineer where I got to pick my programming language and build a basic class. After that, I interviewed with a Software Engineer II for 45 minutes and worked on some string manipulation methods. Finally, I had a 30-minute chat with Cofounder Josh about Stavvy's mission and our potential impact.
- They asked me to create a class that models a tree data structure.
- I was asked to answer several questions about string manipulation, specifically involving palindromes.

It was 3 rounds. First round was a phone screen with a recruiter. Second round was a tech assessment with an engineer. Third round was a zoom chat with the co-founder, another zoom chat with the hiring manager, and then a tech assessment with a second engineer, followed by a tech assessment with the head of engineering.
