First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at State Street IMS.
Security Analyst
I had a 1-hour interview where we talked about my resume. They asked about basic SQL and programming concepts. It started with my intro and they asked me to introduce myself, then they asked a basic programming question.
- Could you tell me about yourself?
- What's the distinction between a list and an array?
- Describe a challenging problem you've recently tackled.
Software Engineer
I had 2 technical rounds and then 1 managerial round. It all went pretty good. They offered a 30% hike, which I felt was a bit low. The office seemed like a nice place to work.
- Questions about Java, Spring, and Spring Boot were asked.
Accounting Support Specialist
First, you need to submit an application and complete a test with 50 accounting questions and 4 essays. Everyone was really nice and helpful, giving tips for the next interview, and providing feedback and teaching.
- Tell me about your current work/process.
- Why are you looking to transfer?
Subject Matter Expert
started with a phone screening, then an in person interview where they wanted to go over my experience and ask some general questions about the financial world. It was pretty standard for this industry.
- Can you explain the role of a custodian bank within the trade lifecycle?
