First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at State of Ohio Auditor.
Intern
I got a call and did a phone screen with HR. Then, they sent my info to the local department I was interested in. After that, I had a second interview with the local department where I met the staff and learned about the role.
- Can you talk about yourself and your favorite/least favorite classes?
Auditor
So I applied online and then a recruiter reached out for a quick phone chat. After that, I was invited for an in-person interview which lasted about an hour and I met with 2 managers. The next step was another round of interviews with management, but by the time they called me for it, I had already accepted another job offer. The whole process felt super slow, like it took about 3 months from when I applied to getting the invite for that second in-person interview.
- What makes you a good fit for this position?
Management Consultant
I had 2 rounds of interviews. The first was on campus, and the second was at the Auditor office.
- Tell me about the most difficult class you are currently taking.
Intern
Applied via campus recruiter and got a call 5 months later to set up a phone interview. This phone interview took about 45 minutes. Then had an in-person interview with the Chief Auditor at the downtown Cleveland location. I actually got the job when I arrived and didn't know it which was stressful. After that, there was a lot of paperwork to complete and send to the Columbus office.
- Do you have any auditing experience or have you taken any auditing classes?
- Do you have any governmental experience or have you taken any governmental classes?
