The interview process is always comprised of 4 employees with who knows what experience and the only thing they do is ask a pre-prepared list of like 11 questions that the interviewee must answer, one after another. Terrible way to get to know more about a prospective hire.

The interview went great, but there was no response for months even after my references were contacted. When I reached out to the hiring manager, they said the case was still pending and to be patient. Then, there was no response again for another few months.

After applying, it took about 2 months to hear back about an interview. I sent in all the required documents, and the interview was scheduled. However, I got rejected in less than 24 hours. I have a feeling they already had someone in mind, maybe an internal hire. Just a heads up, be careful which state department you interview with, as many of them seem to know who they're hiring beforehand.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Can you describe your abilities as they relate to the Duty Statement?
  • How do you go about managing and prioritizing your work? Please provide an example.
  • What are your problem-solving skills, and how do you approach dealing with issues?
