First, candidates submit an application including transcripts and a cover letter. Next, finalists are interviewed by a panel of teachers and an Affirmative Action Officer, along with the dean of the division. They also give a teaching demonstration on a topic relevant to their content area. Often, a writing sample is required right before the interview to assess communication or problem-solving skills, and this sample is reviewed by the panel before the candidate enters. All candidates are asked the same set of approximately 10 questions prepared by the panel, with few follow-up questions. The top three candidates are then sent to the Dean of Instruction and the College President for the final decision.

The process is really structured, you know? Not much room to pick your interview times. It felt like most community college interviews I've had. They give you the questions right before the interview so you can look at them. Then the Committee asks them one by one. It's all very formal and professional, no casual talk at the start.

I took an exam and passed it with a high score. Then I had two interviews for accounting positions. I think they already had someone in mind and the interviews were just a formality. The test results also expired after some time.
