First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Starwood Retail Partners.
Marketing Coordinator
Had a 20-minute phone interview, then an in-person interview with the VP and an HR Specialist. The in-person interview was about an hour, and the VP did most of the talking. I followed up after but didn't hear back. It seemed like it wouldn't be a good cultural fit because the attitudes felt pretentious. The location downtown was nice, though.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- What makes you want to work for Starwood?
Investor Relations
The interview process was pretty ridiculous. It started with a phone interview. They actually solicited me and called me at work out of the blue, which I thought was weird for setting up a phone interview. After that, they had me come in for 4 interviews in one day. However, they ended up cancelling two of them after my first two, which is why you shouldn't schedule 4 interviews for the same day. If you don't like the candidate, less time is wasted for everyone. Then, someone else came in to interview me and just announced, "They just asked me to come in and talk to you." He was totally unprepared, which wasn't his fault but was super unprofessional.
- Were there very basic, standard questions?
Leasing Agent
I had an in-person interview with the department supervisor and general manager. It included a sit-down interview, a property walkthrough, and in-depth conversations about my past achievements, career experiences, industry knowledge, challenges, and goals.
- Can you describe your process for finding and securing a new tenant?
Team Member
had a phone interview with a screener, then with the regional director, then flew to Chicago for an afternoon of meetings with six or seven people. Overall a very positive, warm experience. I was pleased to be offered the position.
- How would you handle a situation like this: "scenario situation here"
