Director
The interview process, from the initial recruiter phone call up to the third and final stage, was excellent. The last part involved me presenting my 90-day plan, and the interviewers asked pertinent questions and were happy to answer mine. My communication with the recruiter was entirely via phone. However, after that, there was silence for almost two weeks. I sent an email to follow up, and their reply was that I didn't get the job. It felt like I would never have heard back if I hadn't reached out. I asked politely for feedback, but never got any.

So I had 4 interviews in total. First was a phone screen with my direct supervisor, who asked about my resume and some tech stuff, like 'What is Active Directory?'. Then I had an in-person interview with my supervisor and a senior staff member where we talked about customer service and troubleshooting. The last two interviews were on the same day: one was a phone call with the Global Manager in Australia, mostly about my background, and the final one was with the owner, also focused on my background. After that, I did a short 5-question SQL test with basic SELECT statements.

First, a chat with HR to see if you're a good fit, discuss your and the company's goals. Then, a basic SQL and troubleshooting test. Second interview with a senior team member and a manager. This is a more formal chat about what you bring to the team and your goals. Another test with simple SQL and troubleshooting. Third interview with the head of department, mostly an explanation of the company and a get-to-know-you. The process was good overall but felt a bit rushed and overwhelming with so many interviews. I was kept informed throughout, which was great given the applicant pool, and I felt valued.
- A user's network drive is disconnected. How do you guide them through getting access back?
Leadership
For those looking to apply, be aware there's a cognitive and personality test involved. If these tests make you uneasy, you might want to look elsewhere. I suspect these tests were recently implemented after StarRez secured a significant investment from Vista Equity Partners, which mandates these CCAT tests for all employees within the Vista group. A quick search reveals the company administering these tests has ties to Vista, making the whole situation feel a bit questionable. These tests are outdated and don't really help in finding the best candidates. It's unfortunate because the talent acquisition team was very pleasant to interact with during my conversations; they're just following company procedures and don't make the final decisions. I withdrew from the process once I learned this test was mandatory.
- Just initial chat with talent acquisition team. They were lovely to chat with.
