Senior Technical Support Analyst
The whole interview thing was kind of all over the place and not really organized. At the start, it felt more like a transaction and the interviewers seemed checked out, so it was hard to get a real feel for the team or what the job was actually like. They were professional, but it didn't really feel very inviting or like we were working together. The tech interview was the toughest part because the questions were fuzzy and not clearly defined. Even when I asked for more info, I still struggled to grasp what they were asking, which made it tough to show what I knew. Plus, during some of the tech questions, it felt like they were shutting me down instead of being helpful. After the interviews, the communication was also cold, even getting my name wrong, which just showed they weren't paying close attention to details. Honestly, I'd say they should really work on making the interview process more structured and clear, and also make it feel more engaging and welcoming for candidates.
- Can you share an experience related to a specific situation?
- Using the customers and order details tables, can you construct a query that retrieves the latest order for a specified customer?
Application Support Lead
I applied after a StarCompliance employee recommended me from LinkedIn. Things started off fast and professional. But then my third interview, the interviewer thought I couldn't handle the job, and I couldn't change her mind. The fourth interview was for a different department, meant to be with two people, but one kept backing out. It took almost a week to hear back from the recruiter, and only after I followed up. It's hard to know what to think about the company. Both roles were a great match for my skills and the people seemed nice. I was told I "didn't have enough sector knowledge", which might be true, but it felt like a weak reason since I learn fast. Being ghosted also wasn't a great look.
- How do you handle angry customers?
Software Engineer
Got a LinkedIn message from a recruiter. Set up an initial call that was longer than usual with the Engineering Manager and a Senior Engineer. This call included a general chat to ask and answer questions about the company and tech stack, followed by a live coding test. The test was appropriately challenging for the role I applied for, requiring foundational knowledge of the subject but offering flexibility for improvements. I was informed of the interview outcome the next day. It was a single round.
- Can you tell me about your SQL experience?
- What are your career aspirations?
- What is your experience with C# and .NET?
Product Owner
The interview process was multi-stage. First, I spoke with the reporting manager. Then, I had to give a presentation about how I'd handle a feature request and gather requirements. This was presented to a group of Product Owners and Managers.
- Can you tell me about how you keep stakeholders informed about progress or changes?
