Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Staples.
Sales Associate
The interview process was pretty easy, especially since I'm a freshman in college. They asked some basic stuff like how I'd handle a chaotic environment and if I had my own ride to get to work. They also wanted to know if I was a team player and if I had any prior sales experience.
- Is your transportation reliable?
- How do you handle chaos?
- Can you work well with others?
Sales Associate
We started with a general intro, then moved on to sales scenarios where they asked what I would do. They also talked a bit about company growth and asked about my past experiences and what my previous employer would say about me.
- Which store do you like the most?
- Tell me about yourself.
- What would you do in this sales situation?
Sales Associate
I had a phone screen first, then an in-person interview. I emailed with the hiring manager to set up the in-person meeting. I met the hiring manager and a teammate during the face-to-face, and we talked about the company. It's a sales job for office supplies, and it requires some local travel.
- How would you sell this pen to me?
