First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Stanza.
Vice President Sales and Operations
The interview process was a breeze, totally clear from start to finish. First up was a quick chat with the internal recruiter. Then, I talked with the CEO. After that, it was a half-day on-site where I met with the senior leaders and some of the sales and operations team. The last step before they made an offer was meeting with an advisor/investor. Everything happened in a timely way. When they gave me the offer, we were able to negotiate openly and transparently, and we figured out the final terms in just a few days. Everyone I met was really nice, professional, and clearly super into their jobs at the company.
- Can you share your past accomplishments with scaling a sales team?
- Tell me about your experience in growing revenue.
Front End Engineer
The interview process involved two phone interviews, a frontend coding challenge, and then an on-site interview. I ultimately decided not to proceed with the company after visiting the office, as the process felt very unprofessional and disorganized, making me question how they manage their business. There were several issues: the first phone interview was cut short because the CEO had to take a call; my onsite interview was rescheduled because the conference room wasn't ready; and then, just two hours before the rescheduled interview, the lead engineer contacted me via Angel.co text message (not email or phone) to change the process and timing, which I declined. Despite the confusion, when I arrived at the office, the conference room was again not available. After a 15-minute wait, it became free, and I had three consecutive interviews totaling 75 minutes. The first two interviews were standard, but the final one involved a geometric question without any coding, and I didn't know the required formula or answer. Interestingly, when I specifically asked the lead engineer if there were any particular topics to prepare for, he only mentioned questions about their software stack.

Recruiting Coordinator
I felt really awkward there. I got weird looks from the employees and it just felt kinda off. I met with the Ops person first and it was straightforward then when I met with the hiring manager next she did not even interview me. She sat there awkward waiting for the CEO to come in. The meeting with the CEO was terrible. She is really young and totally snobby. She wouldn't even give my eye contact. I tried asking her questions about how she came up with the idea and she gave me brief answers and was jut totally rude. She was just cold and very unfriendly. She had not even looked at my resume prior to the interview, so it was just uncomfortable. Would have not accepted the offer if i did get one because there is no way I could work for a CEO like the lady i met with. The hiring manager looked terrified of her. Ultimately, they need to work on their interview process because it was awkward, unorganized, and not a pleasant experience.
- What's your experience level with Greenhouse?
Software Engineer
I had to do a frontend coding challenge first, then an in-person interview. I ended up deciding not to continue after visiting the office, though there were more coding challenges lined up if I had. The whole team was making fun of a female candidate who left just before my interview, and they didn't realize I could hear them mocking her accent and everything. The CEO also seemed like someone I wouldn't want to work with. The office itself was a single room with no windows and bad air quality.
- Do a basic HTML and CSS coding challenge offsite.
- Onsite, work with the CEO on a hypothetical product management scenario.
