Manager
Someone will get in touch to set up a Phone screening with a corporate HR recruiter. Then you'll be scheduled to interview with a manager. Standard background checks, overall a very standard interview practice.
- Can you elaborate on your sales experience?
- How have you approached upselling in past roles?
Store Manager Trainee
So I had a phone interview with a recruiter. She told me about the job, pay, and benefits. The next day I went for an in-person interview, but they interviewed me for a commission-only sales job, pushing products patients didn't need. The interviewer took a call from a patient and wrote down info in Yahoo Mail. The store manager then yelled at me about having to earn my way up to manager. The recruiter said we only talked about the sales role, even though she emailed me about the manager in training position. They bait and switch you, requiring $188/hr or disciplinary action, and don't care about customers or employees.
- Can you share your previous sales metrics?
Lab Technician
I applied and was contacted by phone the next day. The recruiter asked some basic questions and confirmed my identity, then asked about my availability. Since I was out of town, they offered a video conference instead of an in-person meeting. Dress code was pants and a tie. I got an email with the appointment time and a confirmation call 30 minutes prior. At the interview, I met the GM who then introduced me to the lab manager. The manager and I talked for about 30 minutes about my background and skills. Afterwards, they said I'd be contacted for a second interview if I was selected, or as a courtesy, they'd let me know if they chose someone else. The whole thing felt pretty comfortable, and I felt I could ask questions easily. I asked about some negative online reviews, and their explanation felt genuine and reassuring. They didn't mention any "growing pains." It seemed like just one location, so maybe I got lucky, but I felt good about the lab manager and the staff seemed content. I left feeling like I'd actually like to work in his lab.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Could you elaborate on your past work experience and credentials?
- What is your perspective on the negative reviews found online?
Store Manager
So, a recruiter from the company reached out to me after seeing my resume and said I was a great fit for a store manager role. When I called back, they revealed it was actually a managerial training position, which I completed. Then, I had an in-person interview with the local store manager. She told me the only opening was a part-time sales associate position, which she claimed the recruiter had told me about. I was polite, but I had already decided not to accept the offer by then.
- Can you walk me through your resume?
- Could you explain your sales process?
