There was a short written test on the highway code, followed by an interview. The interview covered my knowledge of the company, my motivation for wanting the job, my customer service experience, and my suitability as a bus driver. My interview was one-on-one, but this might vary depending on the depot.

The interview process started with a review stage, then an interview with the Communications Lead. After that, I had an interview with both the Communications Lead and the DEI Lead. This second interview involved a presentation where I had to address a strategic task, like an agency brief, on how to engage employees. The third stage was a meeting scheduled for 20 minutes with the Chief Customer Officer, but it turned into a 30-minute formal interview. They also asked me to create a draft Internal Communications Strategy over the weekend, which felt more like agency work than a typical candidate assessment. After I submitted the strategy, there was no contact for two weeks, so I officially withdrew my application through HR. Overall, the process felt unclear, inconsistent, and didn't respect candidates' time. The expectations were too high, and the lack of follow-up showed poor candidate management.

The initial eligibility check was quick, but they took their time organizing the interview and their communication was lacking after it. It took them 12 days to send a rejection email. I emailed the recruitment assistant for feedback after the interview, but they didn't respond or just deflected. Not a great experience overall.

So, before the actual interview, there was this reasoning test, which was pretty easy. Then, the interview itself had a few scenario-based questions and some 'tell me about yourself' type stuff. They kept it simple, and the main thing was just making sure your answers were all about safety.
