First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Staffing Solutions.
Administrative Assistant
I applied online and got a call from Pam Huddleston (VP of Staffing Solutions) the next day. Pam set up an interview the following day in Clayton, MO. Upon arrival I completed three skills tests - typing out a provided prompt, inputting provided numerical data, and inputting names/addresses/orders from a prompt. After the tests were complete I interviewed with Pam. She asked a series of questions to better understand what my career goals are. Pam took down all the information I provided and called back with a position less than a week later. I set up an interview with the company and got an offer the next day! Pam was wonderful to work with and I will definitely be referring everyone I know seeking a job to Staffing Solutions. I really felt like Pam was looking out for her clients' and my best interest at the same time (instead of just trying to fill the positions or meeting a quota).
- What is your expected salary?
Temp
There were a lot of tests, some relevant to the types of companies they place applicants with, but much of it felt like sitting with high school guidance counselors. I use the plural because all four of the main partners interview every applicant to gauge their likability. If they don't like you, they won't work with you, regardless of your skills or experience.
- The overall tone of the interview process felt intimidating rather than specific questions being asked.
Social Media Manager
Mark reached out to me and was really great, getting me scheduled quickly. Les followed up with a pleasant email to confirm our meeting and sent links for an application and assessment. The office was easy to get to with plenty of free parking. I met with four people, including the President/Owner. I was very impressed by them; they are a class act and really superb! It was one of the most thorough yet enjoyable interviews I've ever had, lasting a few hours but I could have stayed all day. It felt like home.
- Given that the offered salary is lower than your current earnings, what motivates you to accept this position here?
Operations Manager
We started with a friendly greeting, then I was asked about my skills with different software programs. Although the conversation was mostly questions, Les made it feel really positive and helpful. After that, I met with Bonny, who's incredibly insightful. She took lots of notes and made the interview feel significant for both of us. Again, a really nice experience.
- Regarding your previous roles, can you explain why you had difficulties with your superiors?
