The interview process involved a few one-on-one chats that felt pretty casual, then there was a project part. I had to take some data, look at it, and then put together a short presentation to show to a group of interviewers. It was a pretty straightforward task.

Since it was during COVID, the first interview was over the phone. The second interview was supposed to be in the office so I could meet the team. I ended up getting another offer and canceling the second interview.

I was surprised by how unprofessional the hiring manager was during this experience. I get the sense that this company thinks a little too highly of themselves, given the negative reviews on glassdoor and what some have said of the company within the industry. What surprised me the most was her lack of interest in my background - she had made her mind up before talking to me, it seemed, which made the experience negative. Megan also seemed distracted and caught off guard by some of my questions. I hope this review encourages her to exude more kindness for people of all different backgrounds. By coming into the interview with an attitude, she made me feel like I dodged a bullet and I’m sure that isn’t the reputation Stackline is hoping for.
