First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Stackline.
Account Manager
The interview process was quite involved, starting with a substantial project that required using Excel and developing a PowerPoint presentation. This was followed by a two-hour interview with four Stackline employees. Everyone I met was really nice. Make sure to prepare by thinking of examples that show how you've solved problems, learned new things, and worked effectively in a team.
- How experienced are you with Excel?
Account Manager
Got reached out to on LinkedIn by the CRO. Had a few good calls, but then things got weird. Got mixed info about the job and decided I wasn't interested. They circled back and asked me to reconsider, so I did. Then, the person I was supposed to report to changed, and nobody thought to tell me before the next interviews. They barely prepped us for any interviews, so it was strange not knowing what was expected, who I was meeting, or why. They're adamant about not offering jobs unless they meet in person, which is a strict CEO rule. They aren't flexible for immunocompromised people or those hesitant about travel/closed spaces. They eventually agreed to a remote final round after mask mandates changed. This round involved a role play where I had to memorize personas and questions, which is tough without industry knowledge. They used a lot of jargon assuming I'd know it, even though industry expertise wasn't a stated requirement initially. The final round felt really cold, and the new hiring manager had a rigid view of success. Didn't seem like a good fit. No offer came, and no feedback was given, even when I asked for it. I wouldn't have taken the offer anyway, but it's super frustrating to go through a long process and then get ignored. Really unprofessional and a waste of time.
- How would you handle key pain points for the CMO and Head of Sales in a role play scenario?
- Tell me about your process and approach.
- Can you answer some standard interview questions about issues?
Account Manager
This is my second time interviewing for this role. I've made it to the case study stage both times and was rejected afterwards. I shared my case study with an employee in a similar role, and they thought my presentation was strong and were surprised I wasn't advanced. It's frustrating because they don't give feedback due to policy. I don't know what they're looking for or why there's no follow-up after submitting the case study. It seems like a poor way to assess candidates. Being good at the job involves more than just analyzing data and creating presentations.
