Product Associate
It was a Zoom call where I was asked about seven questions covering my background, an explanation of the role and its responsibilities, and my technical skills. The whole thing lasted about an hour, and I heard back from them a week later.
- Could you tell me about your experience and technical expertise in auditing compliance and international regulations concerning quality assurance and quality control?
IT Systems Administrator
Was a finalist for the role. Talked with the manager and a director, had a good chat, and saw the facilities. They also explained the job scope. I was told I'd hear back in two business days, but after a week, I still hadn't heard anything. I had to take another offer, and they didn't even reply when I reached out. It seemed like a good place to work, but the outcome was really disappointing.
- Can you describe how you would create an SLA policy for handling ticket requests and the reporting structure for it?
Engineer
You'll chat with 6 leaders from different departments for about 30 minutes each. It's a great way to get a feel for the company. They ask standard stuff but seem genuinely interested in what you say. It's less about your resume and more about how you connect with people.
- What motivates you?
- What's your career vision?
- What attracts you to STAAR?
IT Technician
Applied and got hired in 2021. It was pretty easy, taking about 3 weeks from application to the offer. The offer was good, so I accepted. I interviewed with the director, who would be my boss. It wasn't very technical, mostly about 'fit'. He was upfront that I'd have to figure a lot out on my own.
- How's your ability to get along with others?
- What's your favorite part about working in IT?
