Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at St. Rose Hospital.
Registered Nurse
The interview process involved a one-on-one meeting with the hiring manager. They asked behavioral questions and presented case scenarios. Specifically, I was given four different patient situations and had to decide who my priority was and what interventions I would take. I was also asked about the specific labs and scans to monitor for certain diagnoses.
- In four given patient scenarios, who would you prioritize and what actions would you take?
- What labs and scans are important to monitor for a given diagnosis?
Registered Nurse
I had a friendly interview with the charge nurse and nursing director. It wasn't intimidating at all. They mostly asked behavioral questions instead of a skills check. The interview was about thirty minutes long. I should have prepared a bit more about the responsibilities of the position.
- Can you describe your previous experience?
- How does your past experience relate to this role?
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
Registered Nurse
The interview was really nice, mostly behavioral questions and stuff like "how do you see yourself in 5 years". It was a panel interview with the hiring manager and the nurse educator. They also had 2 nursing students there to watch and for teaching.
- Describe a situation where you had a conflict with a coworker.
- Can you share an instance where you made a mistake?
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
