Quality Engineer
Since it's a big company, the hiring process takes a while, from resume screening to getting an interview set up. It's a group interview with senior engineers, followed by a one-on-one with the hiring manager. The chat with the hiring manager went well because I could tailor my answers to what he wanted to hear and show him what I can do. However, the group interview wasn't so great because it's tough to impress everyone. Some might be happy, but others will still be unsure.
- Can you explain process validation?
Quality Engineer
It started with an HR screen, which was pretty standard. Then I had an in-person interview with the hiring manager and some engineers and managers, mostly personality and resume questions with one out-of-the-box, kind of technical question. After that, I had another round of in-person interviews on site where I met with the hiring manager again and more managers and engineers, answering more personality and background questions. The hiring manager mentioned they were looking to hire multiple DA Engineer positions, but didn't specify which project I might fit best, making the process feel a bit unclear. I got a competing offer and accepted it, so I'm not sure if there were more interviews planned. The whole process seemed a bit long and drawn out, and I was surprised by the multiple in-person rounds and the lack of clarity on specific roles. There were some scheduling issues, which I assume is common in big companies. The employees were generally friendly, and it seemed like it could be a relaxed work environment.
- Can you define fraud?
- Given 7 baskets and 15 eggs, with eggs grouped in odd numbers, how many ways can you place the eggs into the baskets?
Quality Engineer
I chatted with a recruiter at the engineering fair, and then had an on-campus interview the next day that lasted 30 mins. There were 2 interviewers with technical backgrounds. The QERP program is super competitive, only taking 3 people annually from various universities. About 3-4 weeks later, I found out I didn't make it.
- What does quality mean to you?
- Tell me about one of your weaknesses.
- Can you expand on some of your previous experiences?
