I got a call on Friday for an interview at Nease High School scheduled for the following Monday. They were inflexible on the date, so I had to take time off from my current job and travel to St. Augustine. The interviewer seemed hesitant when she came to get me from the front office. She took me to a conference room where the administrative secretary was also present for the interview. Both interviewers read questions from paper with minimal eye contact. The interview lasted about 5 minutes. It felt like they had already decided on someone else before I even interviewed.
- Can you describe a time you had a disagreement with a colleague and how you resolved it?
Language Arts Teacher
I talked with the principal and two other teachers who teach curriculum. It felt pretty formal and they asked me 6 questions. They asked me to tell them about myself, and one question was about what I found most beneficial in my job. There were also some questions about managing a classroom. I had prepared a portfolio, but I didn't get a chance to show it. The whole interview took about 25 minutes. I'm not sure when they'll let me know, but I wanted to get this down while it's still fresh.
- Why is your profession something you love?
- What value will you add to our school?
