First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at St. John's Well Child & Family Center.
Community Health Worker
The whole thing moved super fast, I applied and heard back in less than a week. Then I had 2 interviews basically back to back, finishing up in about a week and a half total. The questions they asked were pretty spot on for what the job entails.
- What makes you want to be employed at this organization?
Reproductive Health Educator
First, I had a screen phone call. Then, I set up an interview with the Program Manager. The interview was about an hour long and included questions about my interest and experience working with teens and reproductive health, as well as my experience in health centers, especially clinics serving youth. They also asked me multiple questions about project management and presented some scenarios, like how I'd handle a conflict with another program manager.
- What's your motivation for applying to this role?
- What qualities do you possess that make you a strong applicant?
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
Provider
I applied online and was contacted by the Director of Recruitment a few days later. We had a really good discussion about what they were looking for and how my background fit. Then, they scheduled a call with a medical director. This person called me the next day, though about 15 minutes later than planned. The person seemed in a rush and asked some strange questions. For most of the interview, they wouldn't let me finish a sentence and kept cutting me off. They didn't seem to show much respect for my 30 years of experience. I decided to end the interview myself when they tried to quiz me on my clinical knowledge.
- What is your patient capacity per hour?
- Have you had any malpractice issues?
Nurse Practitioner
Applied and got a recruiter call the next day. Scheduled an interview for a week later at the corporate office, though parking was a bit tricky. The medical director was really open and clear about expectations, roles, responsibilities, and onboarding. They said they'd follow up but never did. Honestly, I'm fine not getting the position.
- Tell me about yourself.
- What is your patient capacity?
- Can you walk me through common medical scenarios in primary care?
