You'll meet with management and some of your future co-workers. It might feel a little intense, but they'll ask you the usual questions that everyone gets, and management will ask the basic ones. Make sure you have your own questions ready to ask them too. You need to know your strong points and your weak points and be ready to talk about them. Think about a time you messed up and what you did to fix it. Also, recall a time you had a disagreement and how you worked through it.

Confirmed questions5 questions
  • Given a patient with low O2 saturation, and the provided blood sugar and BP readings, what action would you take first?
  • Can you discuss your strengths?
  • What about your weaknesses?

Applied online, got a call from HR to schedule an interview. Then I met with the unit manager who asked standard questions, plus some situational ones about how I'd respond. They asked a lot of "tell me about a time" questions. The unit manager then left to bring in some other RNs for the interview. These RNs asked 3 more "tell me about a time" questions.

Confirmed questions4 questions
  • Describe a situation where you had to think quickly on your feet.
  • What is your approach to handling stressful situations?
  • Can you share an instance where you needed to react quickly under pressure?
