First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at St. Bonaventure University.
Admission Counselor
First, the Director of Recruitment called me to talk about my application and then invited me for an interview. The interview was a mock presentation where I had to present information about the school to the admissions team, acting as if they were a group of high school students.
- What influenced your decision to choose St. Bonaventure?
- Considering the shift from student life to employment here, how do you plan to adapt to this change?
Faculty
I met with the search committee, which included the school director, two faculty members, and an outside administrator. We had a friendly, in-depth talk about my vision for leading the new curricula over the initial years to meet the university's objectives. It was a supportive conversation, as one might expect at an academic institution. The questions were forward-looking and required thoughtful answers. Being well-prepared on my views for the program's future was beneficial. The process is ongoing, and I'm awaiting a decision.
- What motivates your interest in this role?
- How do you see yourself leading the new curricula in the coming years to achieve the university's aims?
Admissions Counselor
The people were super nice and made me feel really comfortable. It took about two weeks to hear back because there were so many applicants. Expect a group interview and then a one-on-one with one or more directors.
- Could you tell me about your biggest weakness?
Director
It was a pretty long process. I had several phone and Skype calls before the in-person interview on campus. The on-campus part was pretty intense, meeting a lot of people. The HR folks were really nice and friendly. The benefits are amazing! I was surprised to get a confirmation email after applying; so many companies don't bother with that.
- What's your knowledge of the school and its surrounding area?
