Mechanical Engineer
SSL came to my school in fall 2016 for an info session about college recruiting for the next summer's interns and new hires. I also went to an onsite career fair. After applying online, I was invited for a full-day interview. I met with multiple hiring managers who inquired about my background and experience, with little technical focus. I then had lunch with the hiring manager to address any remaining concerns or questions. It's been two months, and I'm still waiting to hear back. Throughout the process, their staff has been very slow to respond, if at all.
- Could you tell me about your experience?
Mechanical Engineer
I attended the SSL career fair at their campus in early January. Around the beginning of February, I was contacted to schedule interviews. I had two phone interviews with different hiring managers who really dug into my resume and asked questions related to my experience. After the second interview, they got back to me really quickly with an internship offer.
- Regarding your FEA model, how did you ascertain its accuracy?
Mechanical Design Engineer
Applied online via their website, and about a week after I sent in my application and resume, someone reached out. We had one phone interview that went for about 90 minutes. Most of the questions were about my recent experiences, whether from work, school, or social life, and weren't really technical.
- Can you describe a challenge you encountered in your work and explain how you resolved it?
- Could you detail your specific contributions and responsibilities within that project you mentioned?
