First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SSI Group.
HR Assistant
It was a smooth conversation, and the interviewer was very kind and gentle throughout. They really took their time to get to know me. It sparked my interest in the company because the interviewer was so engaging.
- Why do you want to work here in our company? (Make sure to do your research about the company.)
Systems Analyst
The people there are great to work with, though the pay is very low. They also show a lot of favoritism; there are many older people who have worked there for years, so whatever they say goes.
- Describe a challenging situation you encountered with a colleague.
Marketing Representative
Applied to an online ad and heard back from the company about two weeks later to schedule an in-person interview. The interview had two parts: first with the HR Director, then with the department manager. It was a bit awkward because the walls were thin and some sales people were in the HR office listening in, which made me a bit nervous. But I guess their input matters since my marketing work would impact their sales.
- What are your long-term career aspirations over the next five years?
Programme Analyst
The process was okay, I guess. I had the skills. They kept me waiting in the lobby for a bit. Then they gave me a written test where I had to write VB6 code by hand, which was a bit strange. I aced it, got 100%. After that, I went into the manager's room. He seemed to like me and offered me the job. Turns out he was a drunk and a moron, got fired and divorced not long after I left for better things.
- Write VB6 code by hand.
