The interview was pretty standard. HR gave me a call for a pre-screen, and then I had an in-office interview. They do require health and drug testing before starting. It was a short interview overall. The people seemed friendly. They asked standard experience-related questions.

So I had this interview scheduled for Thursday, but I had to drive like 45 minutes to get there. When I got there, I checked in and waited for 40 minutes, but no one showed up. I had to call HR myself to let them know I was there, and they had no idea I was scheduled. They asked if I could come back Monday, which already made me not want the job, but I went anyway to practice. On Monday, they greeted me on time and took me to the melt shop. I was put in an office with four other people, and no HR was there, which was weird. One guy seemed hungover and really didn't want to be there. The main interviewer asked a bunch of technical questions. Then they talked about pay, saying it's around $21 an hour but with potential bonuses depending on production. I thought that was sketchy because you can't count on the bonus pay. After the questions, they gave me a tour of the melt shop, and the guy mentioned we should be wearing respirators because of the debris in the air, but he wasn't wearing one and hadn't given me one. Definitely a joke of a company.

It was a 2 stage interview process, and it felt pretty friendly. I spoke with the Director, Coordinator, and Supervisor from the Transportation Department. They asked me a bunch of questions about my background and my Master's academic projects. The second interview was with an HR specialist who talked about wages, bonuses, benefits, and relocation. The whole thing took about 45 days from when I applied to the final interview.

The interview itself was pretty relaxed, featuring a mix of technical and mostly behavioral questions, as they were keen on getting to know me better.
