First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SS8 Networks.
Software Developer
The interviewer was a bit late, like 7 minutes. They asked stuff from my resume and about my experience with the tech for the job. Also asked about uni stuff and then hit me with a random question about finding the shortest path in a weighted graph, which was kinda wild. I didn't get the job, and they don't even email you, you have to log into jobvite to check your status.
- Can you describe your experience with technology X?
- Could you elaborate on how you utilized technology Y in your project?
- What was your favorite course in university?
Solution Engineer
I applied online and heard back from the TA team a couple of weeks later. Since the role wasn't in the US and the TA team was, we had a lot of trouble coordinating interview times. I don't think they understood timezones well, as we wasted a lot of time and emails trying to set up interviews for 2 am my time. I never actually spoke with TA on the phone or video, only email. I ended up having 3 interviews with people across the organization. The interviews with the hiring manager and a product team member seemed to go well. However, the last interview with someone in sales was really awkward, with lots of questions about my background and gender. There was also a lot of silence between communications and interviews. The whole thing took over 3 months, and I got a rejection email in the end.
- Can you describe your experience with cellular and IP networks?
Product Marketing Manager
I went through 4 rounds of interviews with HR, the VP of Marketing, the CTO, and the CEO. All of these were video calls, which worked out great for my schedule since I'm on the east coast. Everyone was on time and really professional, asking some really in-depth questions that were spot on. Any questions I had were answered or addressed really quickly, and the whole compensation and benefits negotiation part went smoothly, leading to an offer not long after.
- Tell me about the marketing software and platforms you've used, like Google Analytics, HubSpot, Salesforce, and social media tools.
- Could you share some examples of your previous work in product marketing?
- What's your experience like in creating marketing content?
Threat Analyst
I applied online and then got a call from the recruiter to set up a 45-minute phone interview. The phone interview was mostly about my resume and some security concepts. They really dug into my resume. After the first phone interview, I never heard back from the recruiter, even after following up for two weeks. The recruiter didn't even reply. A few weeks later, I checked and the job was listed as closed.
- Can you tell me about cryptography?
- What do you know about VOIP?
