Behavioral

It was a short and pretty easy interview process, but I was a bit concerned because it felt like the interviewer wasn't really paying attention or taking notes. Next time, I'd make sure to present myself as strong and independent, as it seemed like they weren't looking for people who are too reliant on others or overly focused on teamwork.

Technical Other

The interview process was unprofessional, unplanned, and a complete waste of the candidate's time. The recruiter initially made it sound like an offer was imminent, but it turned out to be just bluffing about open positions. The HR themselves admitted they have no projects in Bigdata/Hadoop. Candidates expect professionalism and international standards in interactions; no one wants to waste their time for nothing. There should be some responsibility taken to reply to emails etc.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • No one at SRS Consulting is experienced enough to conduct a Hadoop interview.
  • They just nominally conduct interviews and provide no feedback.

The interview process was quite unusual. One interviewer was simultaneously handling interviews for eight candidates. My own interview felt a bit rushed. I was given a task to build a custom cache mechanism in Java. The interviewer would step away to attend to other candidates and return to review my progress and point out issues before leaving again. Once I finished the caching task, I was presented with another problem: sorting a stack using a temporary stack. I discussed a few approaches for this, and then the interview concluded.

It started with a telephonic round where they checked my basic understanding of the technologies used and asked core technical questions related to the job. Then there was an internal interview that focused on scenario-based questions using my real experience. After that, a client interview was conducted, followed by a management round with personal questions. Finally, an HR interview covered salary negotiation and benefits.
