I had a 25-minute phone chat where we went over what the job is like day-to-day, talked about my background and skills, and some questions about fitting in with the company culture. Even though I didn't get the job, it felt pretty easy and the person on the phone was really nice.

Got approached by their internal recruiter, wasn't even looking but the role and company sounded good. Had a decent chat with the recruiter, then a good Skype call with the Operations Director. They sent over two psychometric tests that they said showed what they were after. The final interview was supposed to be for a Director role leading their Executive Search team, and since they came to me, I figured it'd be a proper strategic discussion about the market and how I'd drive success. Instead, it was the strangest interview of my career. The MD was incredibly rude and egotistical. The questions were basic, and bizarrely, a third of the time was spent on KPIs from over a decade ago when I was a consultant, which made no sense for the role. I quickly realized I didn't want the job or to work with the MD. A week later, the recruiter said the MD and I probably wouldn't work well together, which I agreed with. I'd seen a review on Glassdoor beforehand about the MD, and sadly, it was pretty accurate. Feel like they wasted my time, and I have a poor opinion of SRG now. Should have just ignored the recruiter's first message.

Recruiter reached out about a QA position I was interested in as I wanted to pivot to QA. My initial hesitation was that they were advertising for minimum wage and that my QA experience might not be enough for clients. I decided to move forward anyway. Then, they went silent for 3 weeks. I followed up and was told to wait while they checked. It's now been 10 days since then with no response. I won't reach out again, but it's unprofessional to treat someone like they aren't even worth minimum wage and then ghost them.

The assessment day was pretty much straightforward, it included a basic written test, a team based exercise and then the interview. The hiring managers were really nice.
