The interview experience was pretty good overall. I was kept in the loop and they generally stuck to the timelines. I liked how genuine and upfront the interviewers were, especially when I asked about the culture at Squarespace. They really valued if I was a good fit for the culture, which is important because sometimes companies growing fast focus too much on just technical needs and forget about culture, which can cause problems later. Squarespace doesn't seem to do that.

  • I'm not entirely sure how to respond to this, but the interviewers did ask me more than one thing. Broadly, I appreciated that they really dug into whether I'd be a good culture fit. It seems like companies that are growing often prioritize technical or business needs over cultural fit, which in the long run is a bad strategy. I value that Squarespace doesn't follow that approach.

Got referred by a friend. Talked to a recruiter, then a Director of Talent a couple weeks later. Got rejected via email about a week after that.

The interviews were fun. I felt they were all productive conversations with questions from both sides, and I felt that the recruiters were always genuine. I enjoyed responding to the questions and discussing tangents here and there. All of the recruiters I talked to, Chloe, Emily, Maggie, and Alyssa, were helpful and honest. I had my first interview with my recruiter, a phone-screen. Two weeks later, I had a 45-minute Google hangout with the head of the department. One week after that, I had 2 Google hangouts with 2 different recruiters that were 45 minutes each. My recruiter and I set up a call the next day and she offered me the position and asked how I was feeling about moving forward (so thoughtful!) The questions were a mix of behavioral and situational, and they would prompt them as such. I gave lengthy but relevant answers to the questions and the recruiters listened and made me feel warranted in my thoroughness. I am grateful to have had the chance to interview because they are quite a personable recruiting team!
