The team hiring for this role was about to extend an offer multiple times, but ended up closing the position entirely and stopping all hiring after several months of interviews, presentation prep, and company interactions. It was a huge waste of my time and turned my positive impression of the company into a negative one.

Had a recruiter call first. Then a call with a VP. Then an all-day session with PMs and an engineer. This included two live case studies, a presentation, and two regular interviews.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The most organized remote interview process I've ever experienced. The recruiter and coordinator were great, providing timely updates and always available for a call. The first round was a 30-minute recruiter call where they reviewed my background and explained the interview process. The second round was an hour with a senior PM, discussing a feature I shipped from start to finish. The final round was about 5 hours with PMs and Engineers, covering analytical skills, product sense, leadership, and a feature presentation. It was a very fair process, showing Squarespace knows what they want. The generalist approach allowed me to learn about the product org and its scope, and I even got a sense of which team I'd fit best with, which turned out to be the team I matched with!
