So, the whole experience was pretty wild. It started with a screening call, then went into a portfolio presentation. I had to show 3 case studies. They seemed to really like my work, pointing out my impact, how I dealt with stakeholders, my teamwork with developers, and my general design skills. They even said they loved my design craft. But, despite all the positive feedback and compliments, Squarespace ended up rejecting me. And to this day, they haven't given any reason why. It just goes to show, you can do great, get praised, maybe even connect well with the interviewers, and still get turned down. So, honestly, if I were you, I'd probably skip Squarespace.

The interview process kicked off with a recruiter phone screen, covering basic questions about your background and the role. The final round involved a portfolio presentation, a whiteboard challenge, and then a casual chat with a staff designer where you could ask questions about the role and company.

Applied online and got a call from the recruiter about two weeks later to set up a phone chat. They were super clear about what to expect next and worked with my busy schedule. I then had a 1:1 portfolio review and an on-site. The on-site included meeting the hiring manager and some future colleagues, which really helped me get a feel for the team dynamic. I've since started the job and the team is just as great as they seemed during the interviews.
