First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Springfield College.
Adjunct Faculty
I spoke with the Division Chair over the phone about the adjunct faculty job. They were really nice and asked good questions about what the job entails. They told me when I'd hear back, and they did let me know by that time. They were sincere and professional the whole time.
- Can you outline five key learning outcomes for this course?
Assistant Professor
The interview process includes a phone interview and an on-site interview. You'll have many conversations with the chair and the dean. The faculty and environment are very nice.
- What makes you a strong candidate for this position?
Admissions Director
The interviews usually take about an hour or two to complete. Candidates will meet with the current team members. Each team member will ask the candidate a question. After the first interview, the candidate will have a one-on-one meeting with their potential direct supervisor. If time permits, they will also meet with the VP of enrollment and other Directors.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Associate Director
There was a committee phonecall and then a full day interview including a presentation. At the end of the full day the direct supervisor seemed not to know that I was an out of state applicant which was disappointing considering she didn't seem amenable to that and that I had just spend 7 hours interviewing. Everyone was very nice. Given that I was a finalist I would've expected a more personal rejection just because of time spent.
- Can you explain your motivation for seeking employment with this organization?
